Genre: Brutal/Progressive Death Metal
Miazma is a force to be reckoned with, rising to become not just one of the premiere death metal band’s in their native Alice Springs, but one of the most respected and revered in the nation. Uncompromising in approach, the band hit the road with their 2013 debut album ‘Bacteria of This Earth’, and did it all again with their 2016 follow up ‘North’. Co-founding members of The Black Wreath collective, which hosts the annual 'Blacken Open Air' festival, the dust of the desert and the DIY spirit are truly in this band’s blood.
After countless Australian tours and an International tour of Indonesia the Miazma boys have pushed their Mercedes tour van to the limit, traveling further then the circumference of the earth by road in only a few years. Seeing them support Australian local legends such as Pyscroptic, Whoretopsy, The Amenta, King Parrot and Ne Obliviscaris to name a few.
The Miazma sound was truely met when 'North' hit the press in 2016 with Gojira-esque riffing, explosive groove induced drumming and lyrical content that covers self annihilation to war attributes and the selfishness of human kind.
The desolate surroundings of Alice Springs have provided Miazma with a wasteland sense of identity, giving the band a primal, confrontational complexity in both live and studio settings and it can truely be heard in their music.
